Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Hitesh Joshi is a Consultant Psychiatrist who completed his medical degree in the United Kingdom. He then went on to complete his post-graduate training in the North of England with dual qualifications in both General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry. He has completed a Masters of Clinical Psychiatry, and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2011. Dr Joshi worked in the NHS for 10 years before coming to the Gold Coast in 2014. He subsequently gained his Fellowship into the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry and Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators whilst working for Queensland Health. 

Dr Joshi specialises in Youth Mental Health, Personality Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Psychosis, LGBTQIA+ Mental Health. Dr Joshi has also completed specialist training in Old Age Psychiatry and is a qualified psychogeriatrician.

Dr Joshi has a practical and holistic approach to mental health and recovery. He approaches his work with sensitivity, and respects that people often access mental health services at a vulnerable time in their lives.
