Dr Ivor Hodgson is a Consultant Psychiatrist who completed his medical degree in the United Kingdom. He then went on to complete his post-graduate training in the North of England with dual qualifications in both General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry. He has completed a Masters of Clinical Psychiatry, and Mental Health Law, and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) in 2003. Dr Hodgson worked in the NHS for 7 years before working in the private sector (as a forensic psychiatrist) for 4 years. He came to the Gold Coast in 2016. He subsequently gained his Fellowship into the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry and worked in Queensland Health, including in leadership positions, for 5 years.

Dr Hodgson specialises in Adult ADHD, Personality Disorder, Anxiety Disorders (including PTSD), Mood Disorders, Psychosis, and Addictions.

Dr Hodgson has also given (oral) evidence as an expert witness and completed (written) medico legal reports for; criminal court, mental health courts and tribunals, family court, civil court, and employment panels/tribunals as well as insurance reports (for example WorkCover); both in the UK and Australia.

Dr Hodgson works within a recovery framework, and has a holistic approach to mental health. He understands and respects the need to provide a non-judgemental approach towards patients who are often seeking help at the most vulnerable times in their lives.
