Dr Tsai obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science (Psychology) degree at University of Toronto in Canada and later went on to complete his medical degree at University of Queensland.  Dr Tsai came to the Gold Coast in 2008 where he subsequently completed his Specialist training and gained his Fellowship into the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.  He continues to work in a leadership position in Queensland Health as a Staff Specialist in Adult Psychiatry at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services.

Dr Tsai has expertise in the treatment of adults and older persons with Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders (including PTSD), Psychosis, and LGBTQIA+ mental health. 

He has an empathic, non-judgmental, and holistic approach to his patient care.  Dr Tsai aims to form inclusive and respectful therapeutic alliance with his patients, seeking to work collaboratively with his patients and their families to develop an evidence-based and patient-focused treatment within the recovery framework.
