Clinical Psychologist

Tamara is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with adolescents and adults. She completed her undergraduate training in Victoria before moving to the Gold Coast and obtaining her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Bond University.

In addition to private practice, Tamara also works in the public sector as a Senior Psychologist with the Personality Disorder Service. Tamara is a Board Approved Supervisor (AHPRA) and provides supervision to Registered Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists and Clinical Registrars.

Tamara works with a wide range of psychological difficulties. A number of these include:

  • Substance misuse and dependence
  • Personality issues
  • Crisis support
  • Trauma
  • Pre and Postnatal challenges & disorders
  • Relationship difficulties

In therapy, Tamara understands that one size does not fit all, and therefore use an individualised approach to therapy that is grounded in evidence-based practices. Tamara adopts a dynamic psychotherapy approach using principles from Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). She is also trained and experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing.

Together we will spend time gaining a shared understanding of the problems that have led you to therapy, with a specific focus on the emotional aspects of these difficulties. We will also explore the barriers that have stopped you from gaining the outcomes you have been seeking.
